I saw a woman working at the grocery store who also worked as a student worker at SWC.... I hadnt seen her and asked where shes been. She started to tear up and tell me she was struggling in her class and had to quit school and therefore her student worker job, she also told me her mom was battling cancer. We hugged and I left. I contacted her former supervisor for her name to nominate her for a turkey dinner, he replied she was a great worker and he also knew of her struggles. She was not chosen as a nominee, so I thought what could we do. I sent out an email to several coworkers that knew her and together we raised $375. Took my girls to go deliver it to her today and we both cried as the girls starred at us. She was so thankful and
