I saw him do a lecture at Wichita State University way back in the 80s. The man had more wit than most of his contemporaries combined. He was a gentle soul who actually cared for anyone who was interested enough to converse with him without hate being involved. And he even at times was generous enough with those who did not like him to try to change them too. He had some heavy experiences in life to draw from. And was very good at expressing himself & his outlook on life & the human condition in general.
