I saw my doctor last Friday (dont ask). Every time I go to check out, his very kind assistant engages me in animal issues. She loves to tell me the story about how they used to break into labs and rescue animals 30 years ago. I hadnt seen her in a while (which is good) so I gave her Frederick and Douglass business card. During our discussions, she always makes mention that I am vegetarian. I correct her politely and remind her that I am an ethical vegan. I had to call the doctor this morning to give him an update. She told me that she gave our boys cards to a few of her animal loving friends. They loved it. Then she said, You know what? There is absolutely no reason that Im not vegan. None. I know better and yet Im not. Thats it, Im going vegan. I told her to go to The Thinking Vegan website and look through the FAQs and that Id be happy to mentor her. This made me very happy.
