I saw some pretty cool stuff this week fishing Cape Cods backside beaches, including the #1 reason why the Cape is a global hot spot for great whites. In Truro the seals were as thick as Ive ever seen them. Packs like the one in this video followed me around everywhere I went! In total I counted around 100 seals-some of them weighing hundreds of pounds. The Capes backside beaches were once famous for its striped bass fishing, but now its famous for great whites. I find it interesting how the entire ecosystem has changed so dramatically, over the course of just a few decades. Did you know that back during the 1800s the Cape had no trees, because people had cut them all down? 200 years later I find myself walking through a dense pitch pine forest chock full of deer, fox, coyotes and a whole bunch of other critters...where it was once a barren wasteland! Amazing how things change. One change I feel uneasy about is the proposed 3rd bridge across the Cape Cod Canal. I feel this additional bridge will increase urbanization on Cape. I view it as another step towards turning Cape Cod into a city. I feel I have to let the Mass DOT and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce know how I feel, which is why I started the Stop Paving Paradise petition which you can check out here >>> https://change.org/p/cape-cod-chamber-of-commerce-stop-paving-paradise-and-say-no-to-the-3rd-bridge If you feel preserving Cape Cods natural habitat is more important than traffic, then I would really appreciate your signature. What do you think? Let me know by commenting below Tight lines and take care, Ryan
