I saw something today that really has me irritated... I know I may lose some friends over this, may piss off some of my dearest friends and family that are or have been in the military but I am beyond caring. Let me start by saying that I am proudly part of a religion that has been persecuted literally for hundreds of years. I continue to stand my ground and practice my religion as freely as my rights as an American citizen allow me too. I am one of the people who fought threw my life being threatened and being belittled and having people attempt to make me feel like I was less of a person for being Wiccan. Me along with several other people standing up for our beliefs and religious equality in Pennsylvania helped change a law that made it illegal for us to teach our children our faith, and to be able to practice as openly as we can now..this only came about a few short years ago in 2005. Before that being Wiccan in this state was hell. This isnt about my religion but about others who are now being persecuted for their beliefs and their way of life. I saw someone today on here it was a man playing the Star Spangled Banner on a guitar. Though he did a great job and has obvious talent this man did it to interrupt Muslim prayer time..How dare we as human beings think this is ok. Not a single one of us unless we are 100% full blooded Native Americans has not come from an immigrant to our country. Not one of us has the right to interrupt a religious gathering ,, put down or persecute another nationality for the way they feel or believe. Do you all forget we have our own home grown terrorists? Do you forget that this country was built because our ancestors fled their home countries mostly for religious freedom? Do those of you with Native blood remember what our ancestors that were here went through? Or those of us with Black blood remember what our ancestors went through? Now you are willing to do the exact same thing that happened to them to someone else? This is what is wrong with the world today. This is why we fight wars and why we lose so many. Wake up people. Let these fellow human beings live the way they believe they should... just like we have fought to do for all these years.
