I saw the 1980 film “The Shining” projected in a theater twice - TopicsExpress

I saw the 1980 film “The Shining” projected in a theater twice this week. Jack’s character begins as a person that struggles to bottle his frustration with life, but when supernatural forces intervene he becomes a madman with an unstoppable lust to murder his wife and child during a brutal snowstorm in a large building isolated from anyone else. The acts of violence in this movie are few, but fear of murders from the past and the building threat Jack becomes make this a disturbingly pleasurable cinematic experience. The child actor provides me with be the most unsettling shots, often upstaging the lead actors. Also the dynamic soundtrack is so important to delivering the maximum creep factor during the numerous chilling climaxes. This movie always scares the shit out of me. I love it Prior to this week I hadn’t seen it in ten years and even then I’d never seen it projected. I’m a big fan of the Cinemark Classics Series, and in 2013 I’ve seen two kick ass Kubrick film from this ongoing series.
