I saw this COMMENT that one Christian stated concerning another: “Show me any scripture that REQUIRES Gods people to be POOR. Moreover, how can we be the HEAD and not the TAIL, ABOVE and not BENEATH, the LENDER and not the BORROWER if we are BROKE, BUSTED and DISGUSTED? Get a life!” It NEVER ceases to AMAZE me the LINES that PROSPERITY DOCTRINE religious people come up with to JUSTIFY their SELFISHNESS and GREED in the NAME of GOD! Usually they quote the “I would above all that you may PROSPER” excerpt from James LETTER to HIS FRIEND Gaius. Now they’re reaching way back into the Old Testament for what was SPOKEN to the Hebrews. Of course, this is an EXCELLENT VERSE for THEM, but WHAT does it MEAN for US under the NEW COVENANT? There’s Christians all over the WORLD that are POOR and BROKE but FAITHFULLY SERVING Jesus, even to the point of MARTYRDOM. If God is so BENT on His people NOT being POOR or BROKE, why isn’t He doing anything about it to CHANGE their situation? And if WE as Christians are to be the HEAD and NOT the TAIL, ABOVE and NOT beneath, LENDERS and NOT BORROWERS – WHEN is it going to HAPPEN??? If there are SO MANY POOR, BUSTED and DISGUSTED Christians, then WHEN are the FINANCIALLY PROSPEROUS MEGA-MILLIONAIRE Christians going to LEND to THEM so that they can come up out of their POOR, BROKE, BUSTED and DISGUSTED state? Is it REALLY TRUE that WE only have “A LIFE” if we’re FINANCIALLY and MATERIALISTICALLY PROSPEROUS? What SCRIPTURE certifies THAT? WHAT are WE the HEAD of? WHO are we ABOVE? WHO are we LENDING to? We NEED to STOP being SELFISH, GREEDY HYPOCRITES and start DOING what Jesus COMMANDED us to DO where the LOST, the SINNER, the UNGODLY are concerned - and STOP worrying about MONEY!!!
