I saw this on craigslist tonight and I wanted to share it in case anyone can help..Cat is running out of time. PLEASE HELP Woodbury Human Society wants to Kill my Cat. (Shoreview) preferred contact method: phone, text, or email contact name: Candice contact by phone: ☎ 6125327710 reply by email: [email protected] I recently had to leave my living situation due to Domestic Violence and could no longer keep my 5 yr old female Manx cat named Jynx, and would not leave her in the housing situation with the abuser. I surrendered her to the Woodbury Humane Society on Friday Aug,8th,2014. I got a call tonight( Aug 14, 2014) from a staff member from the Human society saying they are not able to place Jynx due to her behavior of swatting at them; and I could come pick her up or they would euthanize her. I am currently in a shelter where I cannot have her; nor do I have any people I know that can take her. Every No Kill rescue/shelter I have called since I got the news has told me they do not have the space and there is a waiting list (sometimes months out) I am trying to find someone who is able to give her a forever home or works with one of the No Kill organizations and is willing to take on another foster animal. It is just wrong that Jynx is facing a death sentence because she is showing some natural cat behavior especially by a company that claims to want to do whats best for animals. I will be truthful and say I am not surprised Jynx is swatting at them, I am sure she is stressed and scared in the shelter environment, She has never been kept locked in a kennel of any sort except for trips to the vet which were not long periods. Jynx is a very loving, mellow, and sometimes nosy/curious cat once she gets accustomed to new people/environment She can be a tad skittish, especially around loud noises and is shy around new people. I do not recommend her to go to a home with children or dogs due to the fact that loud noises startle and stress her out which can lead to her swatting. She has lived with 3 other cats before, and does the normal hissing/arching her back when first introduced, but within a few days she is their shadow and loves cuddling with other cats. She isnt really a lap cat per say...She will let you know when she wants to be held, and when she has had enough she will jump out of your arms, she loves being brushed and is accustomed to it. She is a very quiet cat; but also very curious once she gets comfortable in her living situation. She reminds me of a dog sometimes because she likes to follow whoever she is attached to around the house and watch what they are doing...if you are in the kitchen cooking for an hour she is sitting on the kitchen chair watching you the entire time, if you are sitting on the couch watching tv or working on your laptop she like to sit on the back of the couch right behind your shoulder and watch what your doing. She is litter trained ( no accidents) eats dry food, and is up to date on her shots. I am not sure if the Humane society got around to spaying her; but if not I am willing to cover the cost of that for any new potential owner. I have had her since she was a kitten and just want her to have a chance at life, if anyone can help please email me or call anytime day or night...She doesnt have much time
