I say, question authority. Question it when the former head of the American Heart Assoc., Clyde Yancy, states: This kind of [heart] disease is progressive. There arent any cures. And yet the peer-reviewed scientific literature says something entirely different. Question it when President Bill Clintons cardiologist , Allan Scwartz asserts: This is not a result of [Bills] lifestyle or diet. This is a chronic condition. We dont have a cure for this condition. And yet the former fast food president himself has flipped to plants, and regained his health, because the evidence over the last 25 years supporting a low-fat, plant-based diet is so overwhelming. Rip Esselstyn in My Beef With Meat, pp. 25-26. In my opinion, blaming healable diseases on them being chronic is like giving up. Is it hard to change? Absolutely! But why wouldnt one try everything one could to be healthier if they truly wanted to live a long, full life. What is there to lose? Eating a plant based diet is cheaper than meat (have you noticed how expensive meat is? Yikes!) and it is simple. If you are asking questions like, how will I get my protein, calcium, iron, etc.? I strongly encourage you to read My Beef with Meat and watch Forks Over Knives.
