I scoured the newspapers ... ... and watched many different T.V. news channels ... ... and listened to radio news broadcasts ... ... and I was unable to spot any news items about anyone choosing to deliberately murder over 130 children as an expression of their fervent belief in God and as a way of showing how devout they are in adhering to their religion. Oh ... wait ... yes, I did. (And the number of childrens deaths as a result of this attack is likely to rise in Peshawar, Pakistan.) We can be 100% certain that --even if they happen to be correct about the existence of God and even if they have picked the religion that gets God better than any other religion-- they have it quite wrong that any God or any religion advocates or condones the mass murder of children, the spilling of the blood of innocents. (As a matter of fact, very little in any viewpoint anywhere in the world -- even views that have zero-to-do-with-God-or-religion -- condones or advocates the mass murder of children.) My grandmother, who was a devoutly religious person and who died 44 years ago, used to tell us in situations where religion was touted to mask evil actions, They are an embarrassment to any religion. Still true. Still a calm and studied understatement.
