I see a lot of post-partum women who complain of looking like they are still pregnant, or have low back/pelvic pain. Often I find that they have abdominal separation. Typical gym based core exercises of planks/sit ups are actually counter productive when a woman has abdominal separation....and unfortunately this is what a lot of women seem to do! The good news is that abdominal separation is treatable with very specific exercises that a Chartered Physiotherapist can prescribe.
