I see and hear so many believers say that they just cant live up to all the Bible says....no matter how hard they try they still sin and feel so bad about it. The very fact that it bothers you is proof you have the Spirit inside convicting you......He does not chastise those that are not His......before being a believer we do not think of these things....but then...when God starts calling you there is conviction when we hear the gospel presented....then after conversion we start getting convicted about the things we do that He wants to change and the longer we refuse to give Him the thing He asks for the stronger the conviction and sometimes ( actually most of the time if we are long in our disobedience) He will allow us to pay consequences for the things we do.....this is the discipline of your Father in heaven..... However, our enemy takes that conviction and turns it into condemnation because the absolute best way to sideline a believer and to disarm the believer is to defeat him/her with the thought of ...... I cant, I am hopeless, I am impossibly wicked, I am not strong enough, I am useless, (and then we conclude with) I am unsaved....... Look at those words, what is the main focus in those words? The main focus is I not Jesus! We need to focus on Jesus or we will be like Peter and sink! The truth of the matter is, and the reason this works so well for the enemy is they are mostly 100% truth except the conclusion of I am unsaved....we ARE completely wicked, hopeless, weak, useless, and cannot do anything in and of ourselves....... BUT God sent His Son to die and be raised from the dead to give us victory in Him, then He sent the Helper, the Holy Spirit of God, and placed Him inside us to strengthen us and make all things possible.....when we conclude that we are not saved we are saying God is liar -- yes I know that is harsh but it is true --- because He Himself, the Almighty Himself, turned us into an absolutely new creation! He gave us His Spirit as a guarantee and sealed us with Him..... 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. This seal and guarantee makes sure the following promise is true.... John 10:28-29 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. Be encouraged my Brothers and Sisters, God is not done yet and all things happen for the good of the believer and for the glory of God. Do not let the enemy sideline you.
