I see in Batesville there on the ballot today is to annex Southside. Seems to be a divide. Just about normal. I cannot comment pro or no, all I can do is tell this little story on annexing unincorporated county communities that Mobile wanted to incorporate. Mobile needed these properties because there was money there. Folks could drive a few miles and save 3 -4 percent just in taxes, the folks living outside of Mobile were satisfied, they were getting the milk without buying the cow. Mobile tried and tried to incorporate, it failed and failed, some of the communities even formed a small city to shoo away Mobile. There were 5 locations that Mobile wanted. The city of Prichard which is broke, and crime riddled, and thrashed wanted it to be 6, Mobile gave them the snubb. Mobile couldnt get all 5 so they concocted a plan of conquer and divide, they broke them into 5 districts, so each segment could vote. Mobile got 3 of them, no more has been said. I guess all are happy. Oh well.
