I see that in the land of the free and the home of the brave the Republicans now control the Senate and Congress. This is the party that gave us Ronald Reagan and neoliberal economics. The new Senate will contain such quality candidates as Joni Ernst who proudly declared in a 30 sec commercial that her No 1 credential for being a Senator is that she grew up on an Iowa farm where she had castrated hogs (pigs) and therefore knew how to cut pork The ad served its purpose, it got her noticed and getting noticed got her elected. Behind the whole pork reference of course is the Right Wing economic mantra which is to cut government spending and cut taxes. (Regardless of the pain it causes to the oat vulnerable. ) So..with the Republicans sharpening their knives to cut Obamas pet projects (like Obamacare ) the President is going to have to think of something to distract them while he gets his agenda through.
