I see the powers that be in Canda are running with this meme now. Obama, Holder and Sharpton in the US are dividing their society into separate camps, and has now recently has trickled down to us above them(bad metaphor, scuse moi). Who can deny racism exists, we all know it exists in every culture and country, since the beginning of time, but too start campaigns of navel gazing into the inner rascist within us seems dubious at best. Not that it should be tolerated if deeply systemic in a society. Laws exist against overt racist practices, and must be strictly enforced, but only abuses in the public sphere. Too wage a campaign against peoples thoughts and feelings is a delusional war. No one can legislate feelings, except of course the extra-legal Canadian Human Rights Council, which does just that, fighting against Hate Crimes which is most often just feelings crime. Or, more often than that, is anti-freedom of thought crimes, and of course is all so vague and fluid a person expressing an opinion contrary to accepted norms have had their lives ruined. And, the bigger threat is to shut down true discourse and freedom of expression.
