We have learnt with shock that there is an alleged plot to subvert the selection process of a candidate in the Patriotic front (PF) that has been set for today. Part of the scheme we understand is to Field many candidates from one camp as a smokescreen with the sole purpose of increasing the number of those to vote against the preferred candidate by party structures (MPs and Central Committee). This scheme is planned to be used during the suggested meeting for those interested in the PF presidency so that they can work against one clearly popular candidate to satisfy narrow interests. We wish to warn sections of the Patriotic Front leadership engaged in this plan that the consequences of subverting the laid down procedures of selecting a leader of the party following the death of our beloved leader President Michael Chilufya Sata will be dire. We beseech you to respect the decision made by the Central Committee and respected members of parliament on this highly sensitive matter. Friends of the PF.
