I see this girl wandering all the time around clendon. Shes always doing her own thing. On a mission and too spooked to be caught. Shes already had 2 litters this year which have been given away, free to reproduce and carry on the trend of unwanted puppies. Well on Wednesday she was out again... so I went door knocking and met a lovely family who like so many others in south auckland are just barely scraping by. Now I know some of you will be sitting there saying well if they cant afford to spey her/register her etc then they shouldnt have her they may be so but i too am now in a similar situation, I have recently lost my job, at the same time my husband decided to start out working for himself and to top it off one of my 4 dogs has just clocked up a $2, 500 vet bill from eating a tennis ball (thank god for pet insurance) you see at the end of the day, this family love their dog, they just dont have the funds to do whats needs to be done and they dont have the same ideas as you and I do when it comes to the love and care our dogs get. Anyway, back to the point, I offered to have her speyed free of charge to which they were over the moon about. Gina went In To be speyed yesterday and it was discovered that she was pregnant, yet again :-( not an ideal situation but as any rescuer will tell you, there are enough unwanted puppies in the world without adding to it. So she was speyed.... Thank you so so much to kelleigh from M.A.D for contributing to the cost of her spey. It was alot more expensive than initially thought but it had to be done and we were happy to cover the excess cost. Im just glad that this family cared enough to let us help as alot of people in this area wouldnt have cared at all
