I see this man attending meetings alone, never with anyone. He took one year in march after close to 40 years of substance abuse. I think he is trying to save his life.....He sat next to me as we caught notice of a young man nodding during the meeting....obvious, the guy was loaded. We shook our heads and smiled, a gentle reminder of how it used to be. The sad thing is that his friend he attends with is 100% clean and working a program. I know from experience that the loaded one will take the clean one out, before the clean one takes his next step. Very unfurtunate. They are both only about 90 days out of rehab.
