I seem to be winning my battle with the mole, at least for now. He was fighting back by clearing the mothballs out of his tunnels and making new dirt mounds. I added some new ammunition.....dog turds. My dog is big and I have some pretty good sized dog turds at my disposal. So, I filled the moles tunnel with moth balls and sealed them in with dog turds. When I got up this morning....no new dirt piles. I figure eventually hes just going to get tired of fighting with me and move into a yard where he will meet less resistance. I believe in live and let live. As long as the critters dont try to come into my house they will be OK. Once they come inside all bets are off. My cats pretty much are in charge of the inside. I dont get upset when the bunnies munch on my hostas after all, they were here first and they need to eat too. I do get pissed off at the squirrels when they dig up my flower bulbs, take one bite and then toss them aside. If youre going to dig it up then eat the whole thing dammit! So hopefully the mole will move on I do however have to thank him for aerating that part of the yard, it needed it.
