I seldom if ever open my others folder in facebook email, but I did so just now, and the few surface emails I saw were all disturbing enough that Ive just removed myself from most of the transhumanist groups here. Im making this public, both for legal, and moral purposes. I just got asked if I would consider adding random sequences into people to make them more like animals. I am not doctor Moreau. I dont even agree with the amount of horizontal engineering going on at present. What people fail to comprehend is that all things evolve. Creating a halfway point wherein new sicknesses can further threaten both the species and the world in general is not of interest to me. Its why I generally focus on precursor proteins and the like, and even then, Im careful enough that I think three times before even theorizing, and twice that before attempting an experiment. However, I do concede that there are two bio hackers out there who do continue this disgusting pastime and I hope the governments of their respective nations find them before they cause more damage than they already have. That said, consider this: as a high voltage human myself, it means I have nearly three times the nervous density of the average person. Pain HURTS. There were times growing up when even a hot bath would leave me swollen and red and unable to move because of pain. It took years for me to grasp that I could just turn it off, at which point you have issues with regaining the full sense of touch. I discharge electricity enough that Ive shut down whole rooms and small buildings when agitated. I have NO control of that, despite continued attempts at doing so. There is little if any real benefit to be found in augmenting humans in such a way.
