I served three years in AmeriCorps, one with Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity, the second as a corps member NCCC Denver Class XI and the third as a support team leader Vinton Class XV. I have met some of the most awesome people during these three years, and though I now only see most of them on Facebook, they have changed my life. I could never forget my time in AmeriCorps because it has shaped my life forever and I see the difference it has made in multiple diapers I change daily, in the bananas I peel constantly and in the multiple freezer waffles I toast hourly for the AmeriBabies I have tugging at my yoga pants right now. This was meant to be a really reflective and meaningful post but now I have to put a straw in back the juice pack for the umpteenth time. Oh well, Happy Birthday AmeriCorps, I still love you.
