I share a lot of images on FB, and its my pleasure to bring the beauty I find to all of you. Truly. I wonder if you can help me understand why people use images without permission or crediting them? I just dont get it. Heres a message I wrote earlier to someone. Fair? Hi, I have to say I was really disappointed to see you using my photo as your profile picture, especially with no mention of my name. There is a prevailing thought - one that confounds me - that images are to be used freely, vs. quoting someones words, which are almost always credited. And while doing that on FB may seem trivial, it leads to further borrowing, and I cant condone that. I share my work freely and ask only that respect be shown, and it be shared by permission or failing that, credit. If this sort of thing happens routinely, Ill have to stop and that would be sad.
