I share the following video related to freedom, in honor of my cousin, George Washington Froe, who served in the US Army. Unfortunately, on Apr 9th, 1967, 16 days before his 21st birthday, George was killed by friendly fire in the Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. In honor of his sacrifice, George received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star (with Merit). I recently read some of the comments men who served with George shared on the Virtual Vietnam Veterans Wall. Their words are touching, inspiring and make us all proud! Curt Carter - Dear sir, As an American, I would like to thank your for your service and your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned. Carl Luyando - We served together in South Vietnam. You gave your life to protect America. I will always remember your commitment to getting the mission done. Your family should be very proud of you, Froe. I will always remember how much you loved the game of basketball. :-) If youre in Washington, DC and plan to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, you can locate George on The Wall, panel 18E, Row 3. Thanks to all who serve this great nation and help provide one of the greatest gifts we all enjoy, freedom. https://youtube/watch?v=0rnhsOxC7t4
