I share this with the hope of addressing an issue which has a much broader context than just climate change. And I also believe that BOTH liberals and conservatives are guilty of confirmation bias. We live in a world where many are just flat out chicken to consider the possibility they may be wrong. So we all gravitate to people and data sources that do nothing to challenge our brain. In the climate change arena, both Al Gore and Rush Limbaugh have made statements that are just flat out wrong. It is ideology that drives these men and their followers, not the pursuit of truth. Outside of fundamental beliefs, such as belief in a Savior, we are all called to always be skeptical of our current opinions. It is only by challenging our current framework of thought that we continue to evolve and grow, both individually and as a society. As Election Day approaches, I am torn. It is my responsibility as a citizen of the U.S. to vote. But when you see the same flawed approach on both sides of the aisle, what is there to vote for? In my current state of mind, I would say not much.
