I shared this before, but I want to again so I can make a different comment. I noticed something about Mr. Grothmans comment that rang a dissonant bell. At first I couldnt figure out what it was. I genuinely (read my previous post) tried to find something good about Grothman. But now, Im stuck with the recognition. He sounds like the Sovereignty Commission, Citizens Council, local elected officials, and Country Club members from the South of my youth. They were always reporting to the other good White Folks the unreasonable and disqualifying traits or actions of the darkies. The format was almost ALWAYS THE SAME. Some third party (or parties) who are not present, told the speaker his own witness to the proof of the darkies inferiority and he came to share this insight with the other White folks who have no contact with darkies, have no desire for contact with darkies, and have heard dire stories about interactions with darkies for all of their lives. With nothing to judge the veracity of the speakers statement; they must give him the benefit of the doubt. And of course there are no darkies present to offer any explanation or defense. Now, in post racial America. The darkies trope has been expanded to contain ALL races and national origins who are classified as poor. Red poor, White poor, Brown poor, Black poor, Yellow poor are all the SAME! All are parasites and all deserve the same treatment. And its not Mr. Grothmans doings. It is merely the system he has worked diligently to become an insider within. He just says and does what he has to.
