I should clarify a bit. We are moving to Orem, UT for my family; not for a job. My career has been a full on roller coaster ride. Even during the relatively stable times I got so invested in a project that I never really could leave it at the office. My resume specs out an internship, two contract positions and two full time salaried positions. 3 of those 5 companies have closed down; and the other two have regularly laid off large numbers people. It has been MY unfortunate experience that this is business as usual in the game industry. In Utah well be very close to lots of immediate and extended family; and Ill be able to more easily provide for mine while I retrain, re-educate, and seek employment in another field. I still have a deep passion for game development and will likely be a participating in indy scene for the rest of my life. But its time to shift gears in my professional life. Ive been feeling this need for a long time; and now we are making the opportunity. I still have a lot of ambitions and drive, but am now looking for a direction that will be more in line with our familys goals.
