I should have posted this earlier but Im sure that you can appreciate that things have been a bit of a whirlwind. Ruby May Johnstone, (nee Cummings) of Calgary passed away peacefully, on Monday, July 7, 2014. She was born to the late Peter Wesley Cummings and Margaret Renetta Northey on November 5, 1917. Ruby was the third youngest of 9 siblings; Herbert, Stella, Ellen, George, Gilbert, Margaret, Leonard (Bud) and Dorothy Cummings. Ruby grew up in Rimbey, Alberta, and eventually relocated to Calgary, Alberta, where she operated an importing business and beauty salon for many years. Ruby’s greatest loves were family, friends and laughter. She had a zeal for life’s adventures. Ruby was mother to Arnold and Connie Porter, Conrad, Robert and Brant Johnstone. Ruby is survived by her 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Many friends and family will miss her as well.
