I should make clear that I sold the MLPs couple weeks ago - no sense in fighting the uneducated market. The question now is when to buy back in. The S&P is heading back to 2000 psychological support; will it hold there? Anyway; looking at the MLPL (We still have symbolical 12 shares) is ignoring the oil price drop, and keeps increasing the quarterly dividend. Because of its price drop, the yield is 11.03%; usually is was running around 8.5% Here are the dividend payments over the life of this fund, starting Oct. 10, 2010: Jan 5, 2015 1.624 Dividend Oct 8, 2014 1.561 Dividend Jul 10, 2014 1.431 Dividend Apr 9, 2014 1.404 Dividend Jan 9, 2014 1.376 Dividend Oct 9, 2013 1.366 Dividend Jul 11, 2013 1.333 Dividend Apr 10, 2013 1.182 Dividend Jan 10, 2013 1.144 Dividend Oct 10, 2012 1.082 Dividend Jul 12, 2012 1.11 Dividend Apr 11, 2012 1.067 Dividend Jan 11, 2012 0.959 Dividend Oct 11, 2011 0.981 Dividend Jul 12, 2011 1.004 Dividend Apr 8, 2011 0.959 Dividend Jan 10, 2011 0.887 Dividend Oct 8, 2010 0.837 Dividend MLPL WILL BE GREAT BUY! MLPLs unleveraged brother MLPI yield is of course much lower at 0.68% Here is its dividend history: Jan 5, 2015 0.480 Dividend Oct 8, 2014 0.461 Dividend Jul 10, 2014 0.459 Dividend Apr 9, 2014 0.46 Dividend Jan 9, 2014 0.462 Dividend Oct 9, 2013 0.454 Dividend Jul 11, 2013 0.449 Dividend Apr 10, 2013 0.443 Dividend Jan 10, 2013 0.434 Dividend Oct 10, 2012 0.428 Dividend Jul 12, 2012 0.418 Dividend Apr 11, 2012 0.408 Dividend Jan 11, 2012 0.406 Dividend Oct 11, 2011 0.402 Dividend Jul 12, 2011 0.39 Dividend Apr 8, 2011 0.389 Dividend Jan 10, 2011 0.385 Dividend Oct 8, 2010 0.385 Dividend Jul 12, 2010 0.387 Dividend Again, steady increments. Lets compare the charts: This first 1 year chart shows both sans dividends. The MLPL is being really punished here. The second chart is also 1 year, with the dividends included. In both charts, the 2x Leveraged MLPL is red, unleveraged MLPI is green. In the first chart the MLPL is up 2.2% while the MLPI is up 2% In the second chart the MLPL is up 13% while the MLPI is up 7%
