I sit back and think of how God sends angels when he knows we need them. Theres an agency called Community Care of NC who came to see me during my last hospitalization. They asked me if Id like an advocate to come visit me after discharge to help me keep up with things. I said sure thinking this is just a protocol thing and brushed it off. Well, my advocate is the SWEETEST!!! Shes come to Kinston to meet me, been with me at EVERY doctors appointment Ive had with the best encouragement and hugs (my doctor even had to ask her some questions about this new agency floating around Vidant), calls me weekly to see how Im feeling, if Im taking my meds, if Ive had any pain, and has put me in contact with some other agencies/contacts for a living will and other important matters Ive had to deal with. I had NEVER EVER heard of this agency before...did it just poof become invented? Perhaps it fell from the sky? Nope!!! Now you tell me who that was? My God!!!
