I so try to keep our page, like our farm, upbeat and forward thinking. I try. There is nearly as much darkness in our day as light and its a daily struggle to look INTO the fields full of beauty and not OUT into the world where horses are being slaughtered daily. What we did not share is that Friday, horse auction had several weanlings, that sold to kill, for pennies. Most of the attendees are just watching, they arent buying, and meat prices are up. We were not there to save them. We cannot save them all, I know. But I am sick about it. Sick. So today we have eyes at another auction. I dont know if we will have a new RF horse but its so hard to hear this. We may just be witness, to keep it fresh and real for us all. We are offered old horses every day and I wish we were not, I wish that horses were given a retirement at home, so that the babes being born, bred for obviously no reason, had space here and a chance to have a life. And here Ive been so good about keeping my rambles to a minimum.
