I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this - TopicsExpress

I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this assembly, to pass my life in purity and to practice my profession faithfully. I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug. I will do all in my power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession, and will hold in confidence all personal matters committed to my keeping and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the practice of my calling. With loyalty will I endeavor to aid the physician in his work, and devote myself to the welfare of those committed to my care. This is what nurses pledge. This is our hippacratic oath. What it omits is that we as nurses are there to take care of you, your family members and friends no matter what the ailment. We are the frontline and we are exposed to all of your germs, body fluids, funk and gunk, abuse and violence. Take a look at your nurse he or she should be taking every precaution to protect you and herself. If the equipment supplied is inadequate this is not her fault. If you have a deadly disease that she could catch, this is not her fault. If her shift is short staffed its not her fault.....she put herself in harms way to comfort and care for you. Make sure you appreciate that and thank your nurse for her skill, knowledge, service and dedication to you....that sick person who needed her help. Ebola go away
