I sometimes feel concern for people who are obsessed over technical questions regiarding Torah observance (dietary law,Sabbath observance,ritual practices,etc.). Whenever the question of moral obedience comes yp as it invariably does in such dicussions,it is helpful to recall the first and mosr vasic commandment of all,the commantmemt ro loce the Lord with all toyr hearr,souk,mind and srrength. That is the starting point. Indeed,the very first of the Ten Commandments is Anocgi Andonai Eloheykha; I Am the Lord your God. Without tgis personal acceptance of the Lord as your God(tour willingness to trust and to love Him), you simply cannot fulfill ant of the commandmenrs with right inward intenr. We must begin with the dutg to love the Lord,and that means reguarding Him as lovablewo derful,and the healer of all that is broken in us. The Lord heals tbe brokenhearted and vinds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. The word of God is to trust in the miracle of Gods love to you. John 6:29
