I sometimes think that peoples ignorance can no longer shock me but today I heard something monumentally jaw dropping. I was in M & S, and about to leave after a disappointing lingerie shop, when I heard a woman in her forties, with who I presume was her daughter and two junior school age kids ask the following of a shop assistant.... Excuse me, can you help me. I thought I would come to M & S because its a jewish shop and because you are a jewish shop I wanted to know if you sold cards for something called E....I....D. My grandkids dad is celebrating it and they want to give him a card After a really awkward pause, the shop assistant gave her a look of something between shock, horror and disbelief and seemed incapable of speech so I decided to help the poor girl out. I suggested to this enlightened lady that she go to Clintons (her daughter suggested W H Smith) for an Eid card as they sell them there. She then said in front of the ever increasingly embarrassed grandchildren Oh of course its an asian thing isnt it and with that she walked off with her daughter and the kids in tow. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!
