I sort of now get UKIP. Walking through the City centre yesterday afternoon I was overwhelmed by the obscene lack of people of my ilk. Having embraced the influx of Irish, Asian and West Indian folk in the 50s and 60s when they ingratiated, added value and jobs were aplenty, I just dont get the current hoards of Eastern European and Africans who swarm this town. Yes, I thank Him that I wasnt born in Eritrea, Sudan, Rumania or wherever, but equally I shouldnt feel vulnerable and alone in my own City as a fifty something, white, working class Englishman. Somebody needs to have a word!
