I spent 15+ years writing things with (broadly speaking) no one - TopicsExpress

I spent 15+ years writing things with (broadly speaking) no one giving a flying toss and I promise you it got more and more discouraging and depressing every year. I couldnt stop writing but you do end up feeling like youre a bit like Sandra Bullock in Gravity, spinning off into the void trying to say something with no one listening. One of the super fabulous things you are entitled to with the MA programme at BCU is the opportunity, on occasion, to have a professional writer giving you detailed thoughtful feedback on something youve written. Its called a masterclass and as documented here its brutal but thorough. Even now, with several turns at the masterclass under my belt I will always *always* submit something if no one else does. My writing is different to how it was last month, certainly to how it was last year. My rationale is that if you consider yourself a writer then its fairly intuitive to want to write something and if youre paying for tuition why wouldnt you want an opinion on it?
