I spent 22 years in the St. Louis area, from 65 to 87. Graduated from High School just across the Missouri river from St. Louis County. So that qualifies me for nothing. Still, watching this current scenario unfold in Ferguson, Im going to comment. Questions. I know THE ANSWER, not many of you on all sides of this situation will accept it. 1. What is to be accomplished with rioting? 2. Does blame shifting solve any of YOUR life problems? 3. What are constructive releases for anger and frustration? 4. When will we be able to disagree and still respect each other to have an opinion, whether we agree or not? 5. Does anyone see the heart of man at work here, confirming Gods assessment that The heart of man is utterly wicked and deceitful, who can know it.? 6. Will anyone step up and confess they have sinned in regard to this, be it physically being involved, or verbally adding fuel to the fire? 7. Will anyone confess their racial biases, allowing God Almighty to bring forgiveness and restoration FIRST with God through Jesus Christ, then with their fellow man? I will. I grew up in WHITE SUBURBIA. Mom was from Mississippi. Dad was from Ft. Wayne, IN area. Being from Mississippi, Mom had a very Southern perspective of people of color Negros was the polite term, my exposure was the house servants at my Grandpas that were Trustees from Parchment Farm State Pen. The N term was used very loosely and casually, I never heard it as a slur it was just what what was used, probably a holdover from plantation mentality. Dad would talk about his black friend, which I guess made him an okay guy by having a black friend? :) Anyway, This is how I grew up. AS A CHILD. Did I know any better? No. Do I now. Yes. Do I care? Yes. So, this is just scratching the surface. If you care to comment, please do. If you turn it into a hate filled conversation, I will delete every comment at every opportunity. If you have something to say and can say it, maybe you are angry, but can say it without lashing out at others in the conversation, please do so. God Bless. God/Jesus/Holy Spirit makes us ONE with HIM and EACH OTHER through JESUS CHRIST. Lets be ONE.
