I spent 5 hours walking the picket line with my UAW brothers and sisters today in Big Rapids. They are on strike for safer working conditions in their plant. Their contract has expired and the company is doing their best to break their union. It broke my heart to listen to the stories workers told about their situations. These folks need our support. They have a rally set for Wednesday April 9th from 11 am to 3 pm. I am going to be there to support them. Their situation is another result of the attack on unions in Michigan. I talked at length with their negotiation chairman. The companys attitude was dismissive and arrogant. They are emboldened in this new Michigan. Right to Work for less is wrong for Michigan. Workers deserve the right to bargain fairness in the workplace. I will work for workers rights in Lansing. Vote in November and visit my website fredspragueforstatesenate!
