I spent New Years Day watching the entire run of the British TV show Black Mirror. Its an anthology TV series - a sort of modern Twilight Zone - that presents a darkly futuristic mirror of our own reality. I really should have listened to my British assistant Simon Hatt a long time ago, who told me this was some of the greatest TV ever. The first two episodes especially profoundly affected me - the second episode, about truth and beauty being co-opted by commerce, just may have changed my life. I dont think Ive been blown away by anything in movies or TV so much in years. Astounding stuff.
