I spent a bit of yesterday afternoon at the cabin picking up - TopicsExpress

I spent a bit of yesterday afternoon at the cabin picking up deadfall from the grounds, then rearranging chairs, re-hanging the lifejackets & other shed contents (after removing about 100 pine cones from some critters nesting efforts), covering other outdoor furniture, and managing a handful of snapshots marking the now clearly-changed season, After leaving the cabin, I made a point of stopping at the public boat landing - now sans DNRs roll-in ramp, which is parked at the edge of the lot - to get some shots of the nearby island, hoping to see the loons nest. No such luck; I was simply soaking in the stark beauty of the waves lapping my feet when Mother Nature smiled yet again, sending a Bald Eagle swooping down from its nest, in an arc out over the water, and then settling in what felt like super-slow-motion to roost in a tree about an eighth of a mile away. I alternately stood, leaned, sat and crouched while snapping nearly non-stop for 20 minutes. Although the clarity is lacking in this view, I just loved the raptors expression, which was one of many convincing me that my presence was well-known, and that my cameras focus-beeping and snapping had become a nuisance. WhattaWay to end the day.
