I spent a good part of the weekend at the West End Little League - TopicsExpress

I spent a good part of the weekend at the West End Little League Field (Parkside Avenue and West State Street) attending a baseball tournament for 9-year-olds. There were several hundred people there from surrounding communities including Robbinsville, Cranbury, and East and West Windsor. It was interesting to hear the conversations, some of which involved worries that their cars would be safe 1000 yards from where they were sitting. Two points/questions: First, the field needs immediate attention (grass cut and trash pickup). I just placed five phone calls to five different city departments, none of whom felt they were responsible for these tasks. I then called the mayor’s office. The person who answered the phone was friendly and courteous, and promised to get the work order to the right people. I’ll be over there tonight to see what happened Second, while there was a policeman stationed at the field part of the time, at other times the field was menaced by several jackasses riding ATVs and dirt bikes. These are a constant assault to the city’s quality of life. How would I go about proposing a city ordinance that bans the possession of these vehicles within city limits with forfeiture penalties and a reward for identifying owners?
