I spent last weekend (the Equinox weekend) at Oldcastle, the first - TopicsExpress

I spent last weekend (the Equinox weekend) at Oldcastle, the first Equinox Festival there. It was very good and I had a great reception for my book How High the Moon which is about how the Ancient Irish studied the Sun, Moon and Stars using circles of posts, how much they were able to learn from their observations and how they were able to measure the World accurately in ancient times. There are many theories on how this was done but most of them have one big drawback - they need to know the measurement before they can measure the World. I have worked out a very simple, logical way of doing it in Ireland. Tara was called the centre of the World because it was here that they did their observations and worked out the system of measurement of inch, foot, yard and mile which we in Ireland recently abandoned. It is quite hard to get the Irish to accept that their ancestors were highly intelligent and advanced but I have all the evidence in my book, all logical and simple. I believe the Irish were the first people to understand astronomy and from their observations they also understood mathematics, geometry, harmony and were even able to measure the diameter of the moon and the distance from the Earth to the Moon. I realised this because the diameter of the Moon in miles is 2,160 which is the same number of years in an age. I thought this was too much of a coincidence to be accidental so I set about proving that the Ancient Irish could have done it. I also show a very simple and obvious way of carrying the accurate standard of measurement that they developed all over the World. It is generally thought that Pythagoras was the first to understand geometry and teach it, but there are many ancient sites in Ireland set in geometric patterns and it is known that Abaris the Hyperborean visited Pythagoras and I think he gave the information to Pythagoras in the first place. There is evidence of the measurement on many of the stones around Newgrange and Knowth. If anyone would like to buy the book it is available on howhighthemoon.ie and on Amazon. I would
