I spent most of my afternoon hanging decorations on my 9 Christmas - TopicsExpress

I spent most of my afternoon hanging decorations on my 9 Christmas tree. Since I am 54 decorating the top obviously requires a step ladder. And - I am not content with just a few decorations, my tree is layered in ornaments, (wish I knew how many I actually put on this thing). Anyway - up and down the ladder moving it around the tree. About 6 this evening I had quite a bit of the tree done and was trying to adjust the skirt on my tree top angel, moved the step ladder to the back of the tree in front of the window, climbed up to the very top step and was reaching for the top of the tree when I felt the ladder collapsing under me. When I moved it for the hundredth time I had forgotten to lock it into place. I felt like I was falling in slow motion. I took out the back side of the tree, broke several of the branches, ornaments flew everywhere. First thing I did was thank God that I didnt go through that window and that no bones were broken, everything was still moving. My back, both legs, one foot, and my left shoulder hurt like heck and I dread how I will feel in the morning. I sure am glad its winter so I will be covered head to toe, because I am sure I will be one bruised mess. But, realizing what could have happened - I am very thankful. And no -I havent finished the tree yet!
