I spent most of my day off laying on the couch flipping through channels catching up on commercials. I never realized how many pizza franchises undervalue their product: quantity over quality. 1) This one is known for its delivery service but wants to build their carry out so Monday through Thursday they have a special. 2) This one was known for its quality but now is pushing 12 different crust favoring that you can carry out for a special price. 3) This one was known for getting two for the price of one but now is known for a hot $5 pizza when you are ready. 4) There is one that is the sponsor for the BIG GAME and has famous athletes eating his free pizza. His corp. also bought his high school Camaro under advertising. My favorite by far was the one that didnt give away anything but advice: Why would you use frozen vegetables on a Veggie Pizza or any pizza for that matter? I didnt even know you could buy frozen vegetables! 25 years we have hand cut our vegetables. We make our dough from scratch not thawed dough balls. We have never delivered out of the Thurston shop. It cost the same every day to make our quality product. We have two types of crust: Traditional (Thick) or Thin upon request (at no extra charge). We cant make a $5 large pizza without using cheaper products (and thats not happening!). We will never have the advertising budget to have recognizable athletes promoting our product and I didnt have a car in high school. We are a Mom & Pop shop and not a franchise. We offer a quality over quantity. Even when I am relaxing I am thinking WTH are they thinking! Their commercials to a wise consumer is: We have a cheap product and we have to give it away to get you to buy it! Or as we say in the industry Moron Marketing at its best. ;)
