I spent most of the day reading, cooking a little food, binge - TopicsExpress

I spent most of the day reading, cooking a little food, binge watching The Big C (Must See!) and napping. It was a good kind of sleepy day. Feeling quiet and peaceful. Current book: Wild, about a woman who walked the 2,663 mile Pacific Crest Trail. It reminds me of my walk across South Dakota and is a good inspiration for my next great adventure (yet undetermined!) The cousins came by this afternoon on their way to a Luke Bryan concert at Soldiers Field. Danielle managed to get the TV up and running. Only 11 channels (and half Spanish or religious) so not much there of interest. No heartbreak here. Eating well has been easy as Im usually a simple eater anyway. Curried quinoa, sliced raw veggies, yoghurt and fruit (almost done Nancy!) Tried a new chia seed and coconut milk pudding that turns out to be quite tasty (thank you Ramona!) My treat each day has been almond butter and bananas with 86% dark chocolate melted over. Yum. The wound is still oozing a bit so it is something to watch to avoid infection. If not reduced by Tuesday Ill have the docs take a look. Otherwise just mild discomfort most of the time. But only taking pain meds at night to help sleep. Tomorrow Patricks caregivers are going to swing by and break me out for the afternoon! Been in my high rise recovery apartment for our days straight. Ive requested a trip to Whole Foods and some time on the water down at the Pier. Then dinner with Patrick! It will be the first time for us to see each other since I left the hospital. Later this week I hope to get some happy time with Danielle and Laurie and respective families. Havent seen the kids since Ive been here and looking forward to soccer games, school stories and plenty of sibling eye rolling! All in all very happy with the progress and the process. Spirits good. Gratitude off the charts!
