* I spent my birthday evening, Sunday August 3, 2014, at The Standard-High Line Hotel in New York City. Enjoyed stunning views of the city in the air conditioned 360 degree lounge and watched the sunset atop the rooftop at the Top of the Standard outdoor lounge. Although unaccompanied, I felt very comfortable among the lively, sociable crowd, and one young lady, Daria (from Russia) treated me with the Gold Bar dessert (bittersweet, chocolate mouse & hazelnut cake). Thank you Daria and thanks to the wonderful, congenial staff (Eva, Chloe, Deon, Jonathan) for making my birthday both pleasant and memorable.
