I spent the day sitting with Andrew and Robin, trying to keep Andrew from pulling out his tubes. We were unsuccessful on the feeding tube- hes quick! His nurse, Jenna, put mittens on him to prevent any other incidents, and Andrew spent a good part of the day trying to convince us to take them off of him and get him out of the hospital. He tried persuasive tactics, playing on our sympathies, and even threatening us. At one point he told me, Youre going to hate yourself for not helping me. Andrew also told Robin and I to please remove your fingers from my person, after we refused to take off his mittens so he could make his getaway. I struggled not to laugh, so happy to hear his feistiness and fighting spirit that is going to serve him so well in the months to come. Wish I could have stayed longer. Thankful to God and all the prayers said on Andrews behalf, and to the nurses (especially Super Jenna) and doctors who give Andrew the best care possible.
