I spent time watching the videos sent by our DPP colleagues - TopicsExpress

I spent time watching the videos sent by our DPP colleagues celebrating and then started flipping through campaign pictures of all the political parties. One thing that was common was that the majority of the people in the pictures were wearing under wears, G-Strings (my assumption), watches, shoes, necklaces, bangles, stockings, suits, shirts, dresses. Many had mobile phones and millions were at home listening to their radios. There was no single person naked! Then my heart skipped 50 beats. I suddenly realised that none of these items are made in Malawi! We cant even make an underwear, let alone a G-String which is a number of loose strings connected. We cant even make a watch! We even import orange shoes! We cant even make a radio! All we are able to make are naked bodies that eventually dress up in Chinese made items and we parade Chinese made phones and listen to Chinese made radios and wear Chinese made G-strings! That is frightening! Then I realised that given this situation, it is unrealistic to talk about subsidising cement and iron sheets which means creating jobs outside the country as we import all these items. We are already creating jobs in china to make our G-Strings! Its the jobs, stupid!
