I spoke with the Winchester Police as well as with WCVB News desk. The owner of the dog did turn the dog over to the Police. The Winchester Police will not be able to release any information about the case at this moment until the reporting officer returns to the office. However Lt. MacDonald advised he would be happy to explain to the residents in the area that the dog was not associated with my father. That I and/or my father at Squire Rd. are not the owners that were being chased down and that my fathers dogs that reside at Squire Rd are not part of the incident. Keep in mind if you feel the need to send emails or make phone calls to the Department and specifically the Lt. that there are far more pressing concerns in Winchester at this time. As for the story that is posted from WCVB that was just run I believe you will see it change. However fact checking takes time. As for the posters who continue to express a discontent over my father, his driveway “full of junk”, his personal finances or the safety of your children, I would urge you to express your concerns and/or opinions if you see that need but again will demand that you make sure there is truth in your statements. Any suggestion that his dogs are dangerous and/or mistreated will not be tolerated and the individuals who failed to use discretion previously will be contacted. Further for those who suggest that traffic should be diverted to my father’s house in order to witness “the junk house”, “dangerous dogs” or a “man who terrorizes the neighborhood” I would advise that such posting are criminal and if the same does not stop immediately those individuals will be pursued criminally. As for the family that lost their pet. If you’re friends with that family then have some respect for them. I am sure they are upset. I am as well. Due to the lack of care and discretion the male owner showed in taking a picture of a Boxer unleashed in my father’s yard going to the bathroom at 7am and purporting it to be the Mastiff still on the loose we have suffered greatly. So again I appreciate your concerns and opinions but would urge that they remain factual as there is no intention on this end to allow that type of behavior to continue without reparation.
