...I spotted this photo on SBLs website and thought Id comment - unusual for me! I suppose the objective behind staging such a photo is to encourage the belief that the company is a successful one with significant sales volume. Given the propensity for this company and its owners to mislead or manipulate people, the photo leaves me with far too many questions to be impressed. Here are just a few of the questions that come to mind: 1) Where was the photo taken - the facility in Mexico or in Texas? One location would suggest the boxes contain product not yet sold but being put into inventory, and the other would suggest they are actually sold and headed out to customers. If its coming from Mexico, I have a better idea of what the company means when it says theres a truck filled with product headed up to Texas from the production facility. This looks more like a load for a panel truck than a trailer. 2) If the boxes represent actual sales, over what period of time has this taken place? At this time of year, I would hope that this represents sales that have taken place over no more than a day or two. 3) I notice that the company chose to photograph boxes rather than the actual product. One cart contains parcels that have labels but not one label appears on the boxes stacked on the cart to the right, nor are there any on the three boxes displayed by the door on the far right. A skeptic might think that these could be empty boxes included in the photo to encourage people to think theres more Saddleback leather headed to market than there actually is. How do they know whats in those unlabelled boxes and where they need to go? To better illustrate what Im talking about, Ive included two photos of actual product from Emil Erwin. The picture of his mailbags represented an order for just one retail customer as does the second photo of zippered bags. Ive also included photos of Frank Clegg product. Some were destined to his retail customers and others were in the build process being prepared for shipment. You are still likely to wait three weeks or more for orders from either of these two companies. Ill leave it to you to decide for yourselves but Im more impressed with and convinced of the success of companies who show me actual product rather than a pile of boxes they say contains product.
