I started sewing about 6 years ago and have made a vast number of products. Since having my own bundle of joy Ive realised how lovely it is to snuggle under a quilt and let certain memories be triggered by each patch. This is now my main focus, making patchwork. I also make denim quilts, if you are looking for a heavier, more durable fabric, this is perfect. Each patchwork product is handmade and will have lumps, bumps and the odd imperfection. Please note these products are not CE marked and as they have been made using worn clothing, they may be more prone to rips and tears. The standard cot bed quilt is 4ft x 3ft. If you require a larger quilt, please enquire and we can discuss prices. It uses approximately 30 items of clothing. Cushions are approx 16x16 and require about 10 items of clothing, the cushion is included and the patchwork is removable for washing. Denim quilts are made from recycled denim and I will supply the materials. Any decorative holes in the fabric will be supported by another piece of fabric behind. When choosing your clothing be mindful that vests, baby grows and tops are preferable. No wool. I advise against using your babies 1st outfit unless you desperately want to. Any items that are not used will be returned. I will use as much fabric from each item as possible to prevent waste and prevent other items being used unnecessarily. When I receive your items of clothing I will spend about an hour just working out how they fit together and therefore I am unable to let you chose a specific pattern. Most patchwork quilt patterns I create on the spot, as I am fitting the fabrics and designs together you have given me. If you already know what you basically want we can discuss this and hopefully I can meet your needs :) I use wadding for the centre and a cotton, poly cotton or fleece for the backing. It will be down to you to have a basic idea of what colour and or pattern you want for the back and I will try to meet your requirements. I will send pictures to you to approve if I am not 100% certain. If you have seen what you want, you can supply this and I will discount the product. There is approx a 4 week turn around from when I receive your fabric.
